Terms of Service
Version 2.2, 21 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Sportoriety, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Sportoriety”, “we”). They apply the moment you create an account or use sportoriety.com. The Privacy Policy and the Children's information page are part of them. If you use Sportoriety for a club, team, league or tournament, “you” includes that organization, and you confirm you have the authority to bind it.
1. Your account
You must be 18 or older. One person, one account; you may not share it or let anyone else sign in as you. Give us accurate information and keep it current. Keep your password to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account; you are responsible for what happens under it until you do. We may require a verified email address before you can take certain actions, such as claiming a child on a roster or joining an organization's staff.
2. What Sportoriety is, and what it is not
Sportoriety is a platform. Clubs, teams, leagues and tournaments (“organizations”) use it to run their programs; families use it to find and take part in them; people review their experiences. The organizations are independent of us. We do not run teams or events, employ or supervise coaches, select players, set fees or decide refunds, and we are not a party to any registration, ticket or agreement between you and an organization. Where we show something an organization or a coach has told us, such as that a background check was completed, we are repeating what they told us unless we say we verified it.
3. Children's information
Children cannot hold accounts. If you add a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or have the guardian's written authority, and you agree to our collecting and using the child's information as the Children's information page and the Privacy Policy describe. If you are a coach, director or staff member, you may use a child's information only to run the program the child is registered in. You must keep it confidential, must not export, copy or share it beyond that program, and must not use it to contact a child or a family for any other purpose. Breaking this rule ends your access.
4. Reviews
Reviews are the heart of Sportoriety, and these rules keep them worth reading.
- Write only about your own experience, or your child's. One review per experience.
- Tell the truth as you saw it. Opinions are welcome; invented facts are not.
- Say so if you have a connection: if you coach, work for, direct or compete with the organization you are reviewing, or if anyone offered you anything for the review. We do not pay for reviews, and organizations may not offer anything for a review on Sportoriety, favorable or not.
- Do not name a child other than your own, and do not post anyone's contact details.
We remove a review only when it is about something other than the organization or event reviewed; reveals a child's identity or anyone's private information; is defamatory, harassing, abusive, obscene or sexually explicit; attacks someone for a protected characteristic; is clearly false or misleading; or was written or procured in breach of these rules. We apply those criteria to every review the same way, whether it is one star or five, and we do not remove a review because an organization dislikes it. Organizations can post a response under a review; they cannot edit or remove it. We do not ask anyone to refrain from reviewing Sportoriety, and nothing in these terms limits your right to review us honestly. Reviews appear under your first name and last initial, or as “A parent” if you choose.
5. Paying a club or tournament
When you register, pay a fee or buy a ticket, you are buying from the organization, not from us. Stripe processes the payment, and the organization's name appears on your card statement. The organization sets its price and its refund terms, which are shown before you pay; refunds are the organization's decision under those terms. Where Sportoriety charges a service fee, it is shown before you pay; if the organization refunds a ticket, the service fee is refunded with it. If something is wrong with a program or event, contact the organization first. If you dispute a charge with your bank, the dispute goes to the organization. We may help with records; we do not decide the outcome.
6. For organizations taking payments
Payment processing services for organizations on Sportoriety are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the “Stripe Services Agreement”). By agreeing to these terms or continuing to operate as an organization on Sportoriety, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as the same might be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Sportoriety enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide Sportoriety accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize Sportoriety to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.
You are the seller and the merchant of record for every registration, fee and ticket paid to you. You publish your refund terms and honor them, you handle refunds and chargebacks, you answer your customers, and you are responsible for any tax that applies to what you sell. Sportoriety's platform fee on each transaction is shown to you before you accept payments and is deducted when the payment is made. You must not use Sportoriety for any business Stripe prohibits or restricts.
7. Club Director Pro and other subscriptions
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annually as you chose, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Before you enter a card we show you the price, the billing period, that it renews, and how to cancel. You can cancel at any time from your Billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then. We do not refund partial periods. For annual plans we send a reminder 30 days before renewal. If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before it does. Seats and features are as described on the plan page when you subscribe. A subscription is a billing relationship with your organization; it never changes any fee a family pays, and it never changes what Sportoriety charges on a transaction.
8. Waivers, refund terms, rules and other documents
Sportoriety gives organizations tools to write, publish and collect signatures on documents. Sample texts are starting points, not legal advice; Sportoriety is not a law firm and is not your lawyer. You are responsible for what your documents say and for whether they are enforceable where you operate, and you confirm that when you publish one. We store signed documents as records for you and for the people who signed them. Whether a release signed by a parent binds the child's own claims depends on the law of the state, and in some states it does not; take advice.
9. Messages
Sportoriety carries messages between families, coaches and organizations. Use them for the program, not for marketing unrelated to it, and never to contact a child directly. Organizations may send broadcast messages to their families through Sportoriety; every one carries a way to unsubscribe, and you must comply with the law on commercial email and texts. Text messages are sent only to numbers whose owners have agreed in writing; reply STOP to stop. We may read a message to investigate a report or as the law requires.
10. The Ride Home, Chalk Talk and other content
We publish articles, cards and resources for sports parents and coaches. They share what researchers and experienced coaches have learned, with the sources listed. They are general information. They are not counseling, therapy, or medical or legal advice, and they are not about your child in particular. If you are worried about a child's safety or wellbeing, speak to their doctor or a licensed professional; in an emergency call 911, or 988 for a mental health crisis.
11. AI features
Some features for coaches use an AI service: when a coach searches the drill library, or asks for a drill the library does not have, the words the coach types are sent to it to find matching drills or to draft a new one, and a coach reviews a drafted drill before anyone else sees it. Every child's name is removed before anything is sent, and no child's record is ever sent. Practice plans and game plans are put together from the drill library and the team's own records, and reach no AI service.
12. What you may not do
Use Sportoriety for anything unlawful. Pretend to be someone else, or to represent an organization you do not. Post or send anything harassing, threatening, obscene or defamatory. Collect, scrape or export information about other users or children by any means other than the features we provide. Try to get around a security or access control. Interfere with the service or load it unreasonably. Write, buy, sell or trade reviews. Use the service to contact or groom a child. Resell the service. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we report child-safety concerns to the authorities.
13. Content and ownership
You own what you write. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display and distribute it on Sportoriety and in materials about Sportoriety for as long as it is on the service and, for a review, for as long as the review is published. We may show a review in a listing or a search result. Sportoriety's name, marks, design and content belong to us or our licensors; you may not copy them beyond what the service allows. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
14. Ending things
You can close your account at any time from Account settings or by writing to us at contactus@sportoriety.com; the Privacy Policy says what happens to your information. If you are a child's only guardian on Sportoriety and we close your account at your request, the child's record is deleted with it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts a child at risk, or is used for fraud, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. An organization that leaves may export its own records for 60 days.
15. What we do not promise
SPORTORIETY IS PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ANY ORGANIZATION, COACH OR REVIEW IS ACCURATE OR TRUSTWORTHY, OR THAT ANY PROGRAM OR EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AS LISTED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Some states do not allow some of these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.
16. Limits on our liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, SPORTORIETY AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF SPORTORIETY OR FROM ANY PROGRAM, EVENT, PAYMENT, REVIEW OR CONTENT ON IT, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD IT COULD HAPPEN. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS TOGETHER IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO SPORTORIETY (NOT TO ORGANIZATIONS) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. These limits do not apply to liability the law does not let us limit, including for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
17. If you run an organization, you cover us
If you direct or operate an organization on Sportoriety, you will defend and indemnify Sportoriety against claims arising from your programs and events, your documents, your treatment of participants and their information, your payments and refunds, and your breach of these terms. If you are an individual user, your indemnity is limited to claims arising from content you post and from your breach of these terms.
18. Disputes
These terms are governed by Texas law. Before either of us starts a case, we will try to resolve the dispute informally: write to contactus@sportoriety.com with your name, the problem and what you want, we will do the same, and we will talk within 60 days. If that fails, any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, by video or in your county, with Sportoriety paying any filing fee above the cost of filing in small claims court when you are an individual. YOU AND SPORTORIETY EACH GIVE UP THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO BRING OR JOIN A CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead, and either of us may ask a court for an injunction to stop misuse of the service or of a child's information. You can opt out of arbitration by writing to us within 30 days of first accepting these terms.
19. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms in a way that matters, we publish a new version with a new number and date and ask every signed-in person to accept it before continuing. Using Sportoriety after accepting means the new version applies.
20. The rest
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a term once does not waive it. You may not transfer your account; we may transfer these terms if Sportoriety is sold, and we will tell you. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Children's information page are the whole agreement between us about Sportoriety.
