Our story
Built by coaches who ran out of tools.
Sportoriety started because running amateur sports meant six apps, a group text, and a spreadsheet. The people accountable for the event, the club, the team, and the family deserved one place that told the truth.
Our Story
There's a moment every youth sports parent knows.
You've driven an hour and a half. Paid the entry fee. Watched your kid warm up with everything they had. Then the game starts and something is wrong. Maybe the competition is so mismatched it stops being a game. Maybe the rules seem to be applied differently depending on who's asking. Maybe you leave the parking lot wondering what you just paid for.
We've had those moments. More than once. On the sideline as coaches. In the stands as parents. In the parking lot afterward, having the conversation nobody wants to have in front of the kids.
And every time, the same question came up. Why is there no better way to know before you go?
What built Sportoriety wasn't one game or one tournament. It was the accumulation. Entry fees spent on weekends that didn't deliver. Mismatched competition that left kids discouraged. Events where the people in charge had conflicts of interest nobody was talking about. Parents making hundred-dollar decisions, sometimes thousand-dollar decisions, almost completely blind.
The kids were the ones paying the real price.
We've been around youth sports long enough to know that most directors and coaches want to do right by kids. They're not cutting corners on purpose. They're coaches with day jobs who go to bed thinking about tomorrow's practice. They're directors juggling five different tools to run a single weekend. They want to do better. They just don't have the infrastructure, or the accountability, to get there.
That's the gap Sportoriety was built to fill.
We've spent years building software at companies where millions of people depend on getting it right, and years more in gyms on Saturday mornings. We could have built a lot of things. We built this one because we've lived it. Think back to your own time as a young athlete. If you'd had a way to find the right coach, the right team, the right environment, how much further might you have gone?
Every kid deserves that chance. Not just the ones whose parents happen to know the right people.
Sportoriety exists so youth sports is well run, transparent, and connected. So a parent can make an informed decision before spending thousands of dollars on a club or a tournament. So a coach gets the tools to run a better practice and builds a reputation on what they actually do. So a director who runs a great event gets recognized for it, and one who doesn't has somewhere to improve.
This goes beyond youth sports. Every amateur athlete, every age, everywhere. Sports have connected people across ages, nationalities, politics, genders, and abilities for thousands of years, and they will keep doing it as long as humans are here.
We're building the infrastructure to make those connections better.
What we believe
The kid comes first. Every decision we make starts with the athlete on the court, not the adult in the office.
Every kid deserves a sport. Wherever they live, whatever they play, however much their family has. The game should be within reach.
Sports teach life. How to work at something hard. How to lose and show up again. How to belong to a team. No classroom does that.
The truth should be visible. Parents deserve to see what's best for their child. Coaches deserve to see what's working. Directors deserve to see their business clearly. Nobody should have to guess.
Directors are builders. You're running a business and building something for kids at the same time. You deserve tools that give you room to think about next season, not just this Saturday.
A great weekend changes a kid. The kid who has one keeps playing, finds the sport they love, and one day hands it to their own children.
Love the game.
